Yes, there were two versions in the add and delete programs section. I've used it to zap some left over old software on my machines that Add/Remove in Windows refuses to get rid of. If however there really are two versions of the program on the hard drive and you can't get rid of the old one then try Revo Uninstaller (the free version should suffice) You can use something like CCleaner to remove this orphan entry. This entry points to a no longer existing uninstall file in all likelihood hence the error message you get. What it quite possible is that the installer for the new version didn't clean up properly and left an orphan entry in the Ad/Remove Programs list. Presumably if you run the program file directly from the folder you have found it opens the current version and not the old? If so then that probably means you only have the new version and that 321MB is not actually being wasted! Otherwise you would have two sets of folders and files. If there is only a single folder and it contains the new version files then that suggests the new installation over wrote the old. Has anyone had this problem before, or has any idea how to resolve it? It's not a huge problem, just annoying and a waste of 321MB on my hard drive. I've clicked on the support information link, clicked on repair, but then get the same CD-ROM pop-up as before.īeen to program files on C-drive and there is only one set of Calibre files, shown as today's date. I notice that this version doesn't have the usual pile of books Calibre icon, but a windows icon of computer screen and disc. I've only ever installed directly from the web, so no idea what the disc is it refers to. Attempted to remove old version and got pop-up "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disc that is not available. But it was not able to automatically uninstall the old version (v.0.9.31). I just installed the latest version of Calibre (1.15.0).
